Saint Rémy-de-Provence is nicknamed "the little Paris of Provence", as its attractive city center has many assets. The city is ideally located in the heart of the Alpilles regional natural park (the little Alps). Within this particularly dry white limestone massif, some of the best olives in France are grown. The plain around Saint-Rémy has been well channeled, and there are also many fruit trees and vegetables nearby. Its market, which is held twice a week (every Wednesday and Saturday), is exceptional for its variety and colors. A small ring road goes around the city. In its center there are many shops, and pretty shaded squares with fountains and very good restaurants.

One of the best chocolatiers has set up shop in Saint Rémy-de-Provence. You can taste their delicious chocolates for free. His name is Joel Durand and you can find his shop on the city ring road.
