It is a small church now deconsecrated with a single apsidal hall built between the end of the 11th century. and the beginning of the twelfth century. The fine 15th and 16th century frescoes in the church and the archaeological finds dating back to even earlier times, testify how this area has been, over the centuries, an important place of worship.

Also known as "the Magi", depicted on the right wall, this church was probably built on the remains of previous pagan and / or late Roman buildings. The eighteenth-century restorations have not altered the original simplicity of the Romanesque building. Externally, the apse repeats some ornamental motifs of the apses of the nearby Church of San Donato, a few hundred meters away, such as the arches in terracotta and stone.

Over the centuries it represented an important place of worship and reference for the population of the area, and, given its isolated position, it served several times as a hospital, on the occasion of the great plagues. until the last cholera epidemic of 1884.
