In the wine town of Dertingen there are not only a very beautiful townscape and great photo opportunities, but also various opportunities to stop off. Dertingen is located directly on the well-developed Aalbachtalradweg, which runs between Würzburg and Bettingen (near Wertheim).

Dertingen is a very pretty little town at the northernmost point of Baden-Württemberg.

In the Middle Ages, Dertingen was characterized by its fortified church and its two mills. It was an independent community in the district of Tauberbischofsheim until it was incorporated into Wertheim on December 1, 1972. Since January 1, 1973, Dertingen has been part of the Main-Tauber district. On December 31, 2018 Dertingen had 873 inhabitants
