Like the water tower, the listed ensemble, locomotive shed and segment turntable is a landmark of the city of Bebra. Thanks to the association for the preservation of the industrial monument, founded in 2011, the engine shed was saved from demolition after decades of decay. In the meantime, the hall with the striking architecture has become an event location (bebra-lokschuppen.de/) with a special charm. The turntable – unique in this form in Germany – is to be preserved and, if possible, its function restored. A great project to preserve a piece of Bebraer history. The turntable and engine shed were completed in 1876. The turntable was still in operation until the late 1960s.

It is a fantastic technical masterpiece, the turning disc that then drives the engine sheds. The engine sheds have been restored and now have a different function.
