The history of the Reuschenberger mill goes back to 1477. It was already producing grain meal and oil back then, the drive energy came from the Wupper via Mühlengraben. After the renovation in the 19th century, people spoke of an art mill - because of the engineering skill: six grinding stages, a hydraulic pump and a turbine, "the first in the Rhineland". 35 years later the facility was ready for scrap, followed by a wood grinding shop and a paper factory, then various companies came before the current owner renovated the old industrial complex in coordination with the preservation authorities.

A mill has stood here since at least 1477. In 1847, the current building was built using the latest technology at the time and served, among other things, as a paper mill. Today hydropower is used here to generate electricity.
