The Rocca del Leone is the medieval fortress with an irregular pentagonal structure built starting from the thirteenth century.
This is the main monument of Castiglione del Lago and is definitely worth a visit.

Castiglione del Lago has a beautiful old town and an impressive fortification. This is initially without admission, only those who want to enjoy the view from the walls, must pay.
Otherwise, the city also offers a lot of views, on the platform in front of the eastern city gate you can even look as far as Montepulciano.
Tip: The path through olive trees and with a view below the city wall.

With the well-preserved city wall and the castle, the city presents itself quite medieval, but the surrounding area is sprawled by new buildings. The historic district of the city overlooks the lake. The sea-facing western part with the Piazza Mazzini is the lively center. Castiglione is the tourist center of Lake Trasimeno with all facilities for swimming and water sports.
