The Certosa was built by Brunone di Germania who later became San Bruno and not by Santo Stefano. Very beautiful and above all enormous in terms of the vastness of the territory and of the structures inside it where a dozen industrious Carthusians still live who carry on the Certosa today cloistered and therefore closed to the public. However, an ad hoc museum has been created alongside it which places the visitor at the center of the history of Serra San Bruno and its Certosa. Of his order, today, it is the only one that is "alive" after the mother Chartreuse of Grenoble.

Serra San Bruno is a small town with a particularly large number of beautiful buildings. The San Stefano Charterhouse is particularly well-known in the area. The Carthusian monks who live here have shaped the place for almost 1,000 years. It is also interesting that the people here live from granite mining and the traditional production of charcoal.
