Čumil, also known as "Man at Work," is one of the most famous and most photographed bronze figures in Bratislava's Old Town. The statue depicts a man relaxing and gazing out of a manhole cover, arms crossed and a mischievous smile on his face. It was created in 1997 by the Slovak artist Viktor Hulík and is intended to bring humor and lightheartedness to public spaces. The name "Čumil" means something like "gawker" or "observer," and that's exactly what the figure does: silently observe the hustle and bustle of the city. Whether as a paused sewer worker or a teasing observer, his true role is open to speculation.

The figure stands at the corner of Panská Street and Rybárska brána and even bears a warning sign ("Man at Work") to protect it from traffic damage. Many visitors believe that anyone who touches Čumil can make a wish – as long as they don't tell anyone.
