Even if there are only miniature aircraft, a trip to the model airfield of the Luftsportverein Ratzeburg e.V. is definitely worth it. Here the visitors can admire the flying skills of the club members with their model planes. Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky enough to marvel at one of the mini planes during my bike tour. Therefore, the website of the LSV Ratzeburg e.V. lsv-rz.de should be checked beforehand. The dates are given here, when which member flies through the air on the field with the plane.

The club's members fly a wide range of models. Gliders, petrol planes, drones, helicopters and jets with both turbine and electric propulsion can be found regularly at our airfield. Pretty much anything that's fun flies here.
The airfield is located between Bälau and Mannhagen, about 5 km west of Mölln and is very large with an area of 2.5 hectares. Models up to 25 kg take-off weight are permitted. Guest pilots should contact the local flight director or make an appointment using the contact form, provided that they have model liability insurance and proof of knowledge. When the weather is good, the site is always well attended...so just come along.
