Unfortunately, the Hochleithenwald is cordoned off with large gates for cycling. The route marked here leads along the edge of the forest and offers great views of Vienna and also into the forest, on the finest white gravel. Highly recommended.

Since I am a pleasure cyclist, I ALWAYS plan my routes in such a way that they follow international or regional cycle paths, side roads and main roads only for a few meters. I often take a little detour to do this. I made the way from Wolkersdorf towards Bockfließ. I think that's better. The sometimes steep but relatively short climb is in the forest and therefore in the shade, while the gentle but eternally long descent is in the sun. A tip: I missed the white woman's cross in this direction and therefore went back. The reason: You are in a sloping left-hand bend where you suddenly see yourself facing a barrier, so you need all your eyes, hands and brakes in order not to drive against it and you have to take the narrow "bypass". So the crosses are in front of the barrier. :-)
