This descent from Saint-Maurice-de-Navacelles to the valley that leads to Ganges is one of the most beautiful that I have taken.

You will really have fun taking this switchback road. If you go the other way, the climb is also very pleasant.

Along the way if you run out of water, you will find a small fountain along the road.

Depending on which direction you're coming from, the climb up the plateau to Saint-Maurice-Navacelles is tough work, but it's also rewarded with fantastic views towards the Vis valley and the Cirque de Navacelles. The Cirque de Navacelles is a bowl-shaped depression on the slope of the plateau, a so-called Karformation, which is to the north as seen from here. Originally created by a glacier, the Cirque de Navacelles is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the ascent, small bays in the serpentines are also ideal for small breaks for relaxation and views. A small fountain on the route provides a bit of refreshment.
