Pogačnik's home on Kriški podi is a mountain lodge located on the lower edge of Kriški podi, a karst plateau near three mountain lakes and is a popular starting point for many mountain tours.
The lodge stands on the Griva hill on the lower edge of the high-mountain karst plateau Kriški podi. PD Radovljica began construction in 1948 and was opened on October 7, 1951. It was named after Jože Pogačnik (1927-1951), head of the PZS economic commission and initiator of the construction of the home, who died in an accident in Mlinarica on the way to the opening. at home. In 1973, an extension with toilets, washbasins and a laundry was added and the interior was renovated, and the renovated home was opened on September 23, 1973. In 1983, a freight cable car was built from Zadnjica, which was completely renovated in 2001-2003 and handed over on September 12. 2003. On September 15, 1985, a bivouac with a winter room was opened in the upper station next to the home. In 1993, they turned on a cell phone. In 2004, the roof was renovated and the home was covered with new roofing. The home is open from July 1 until the last Sunday in September.

From the home there is an extremely beautiful view of the mountains that surround Kriška pode and towards Trenta and the mountains above it. On the east side rise Stenar and Bovški Gamsovec, and on the southwest Pihavec appears as a steep, towering mountain, the western walls of which fall into the ravine of Beli potok; just below the lodge lies Lake Spodnje Kriško; to the south is the Trenta valley with the Soča and the settlement of Na Logu, to the left above it we see the ridge with Veliki Špičje and Plaski Vogel and in the background Krn, and to the right Srebrnjak and Bavški Grintavec; a wider view to the west closes the nearby ridge with Planja and Goličica (a beautiful view to the west is from the Preval between Razor and Planja, from where we can see Prisojnik, Mojstrovka, Jalovec, Pelce, Mangrt, Viš, Poliški Špik and with good visibility also towards the Dolomites) ; on the north side, the mighty walls of Razor surround the Kriški pode, while the Kriški rob and Križ peaks are closer.
