                    The planet path on the section of the R1 cycle path between Friedlos and Mecklar shows the planets of our solar system true to scale over a length of 2.5 km with an indication of their distance from the sun. In 2009 the project was carried out by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Sternfreunde Friedwald e. V. initiated. The amateur astronomer Kurt Thiede from Ludwigsau-Tann played a decisive role in this.
