The statue is about 30 metres high and stands on a building with 36 columns that is about 10 metres high and serves as a base. This makes it currently the tallest equestrian statue in the world and is over twice as high as the previous record holder, a statue in Uruguay (as of 2011). The monument was inaugurated on 26 September 2008 and consists of around 250 tonnes of stainless steel.
