Cycle path on old railway line

The former Iserlohn-Hemer railway line, which has been converted into a footpath and cycle path, is extremely popular with the people of Iserlohn. Between the new city train station and Hansbergstrasse on the city border, this promenade-like west-east axis is 3.1 kilometers long and 3 meters wide asphalted throughout. In particular, the nearby city center can be reached quickly and easily via the Poth, Wiemer and Karlstrasse junctions. Almost the entire route runs through a green corridor with no gradient. By incorporating this connection into the NRW cycle network, the footpath and cycle path is well signposted along its entire length to Hemer. The area of the Hemer 2010 State Garden Show can be reached in just under half an hour via this route - also known as the "butterfly route".
