Haus Schücking is one of the most important buildings by the baroque architect Johann Conrad Schlaun. With its outbuildings, the complex seems a little plain at first glance. But if you are lucky, you can see the facade from the garden side. It is stylishly integrated into the park belonging to the house and is absolutely worth seeing.

Haus Schücking is a simple, one-story brick house that was built by Johann Conrad Schlaun. It was built in 1754. It was intended to serve as a country residence for the prince-bishop's chancellor Christoph Bernhard Engelbert Schücking (who also gave the house his name). Since the garden was more important to the client than the street side, the facade on the garden side in particular was designed in a particularly artistic way. In 1882 the south wing of the house was built. It is particularly noticeable because of its tower-like pyramid roof. Most of the other outbuildings date from the 18th century. The house itself is inhabited by the Schücking family and can therefore not be visited.
