        Between 1942 and 1945 there were two forced labor camps in what is now the city area, in which mostly Russian prisoners of war were housed. Based on old photographs and site plans, both the appearance of the barracks of what was then known as the "Stalingrad camp" and the location and extent of the two camps could be determined the six camp barracks were reduced to scale and created as models (concrete casting) true to their position.Information boards designed by schoolchildren were attached to the slightly sloping roofs of the models.
