The "Bridge between Marsch and Geest" - as St. Michaelisdonn is also symbolically called - offers locals and guests a varied landscape. In the vicinity of the southern outskirts of the village, in the middle of the flat marshland, the Spiekerberg, which is 33 meters high for Dithmarsch standards and which, when the air is clear, offers a fascinating view of the lowlands of the Elbe estuary.

The Dutch mill "Edda", founded in 1842, is located on the Kleve, visible to everyone from afar. It is considered the landmark of St. Michaelisdonn and is just as significant for the place as the Masonic Museum. The latter is unique in Germany and with an exhibition area of 350 m² the third largest of its kind in Europe!

The trolley, which opened in 2004, offers bike enthusiasts and railway enthusiasts an unforgettable experience. It is almost 10 km from St. Michaelisdonn past the marsh pastures and wind turbines typical of the west coast to the town of Marne. A so-called “plug-in sail” can even be used to support the journey in the direction of the wind.

The small airfield in the district of Hopen is operated by the Dithmarscher Luftsportverein. Numerous motor and glider planes take off and land from here. Invite you to sightseeing flights over the Südermarsch, over the Elbe to Germany's only offshore island Helgoland. Not far away, the "Golfclub am Donner Kleve" has a public golf course with 18 holes and a 9-hole short course. The Hohenkamp bicycle hostel and the associated campsite are located in this wonderful recreational and recreational landscape on the Kleve.
