The hike to the small glacier lake in the middle of the large lava field is an absolute highlight. The water has a very special color. A circular route (path) leads once around this great place in the mountains.

Small glacier lake surrounded by glacier cliffs, which has an incredible color scheme. There is a beautiful circular walk around the lake which offers always new and beautiful perspectives. Absolute highlight in this corner of Iceland.

That was an incredible tour! Fog, wind and freezing cold - Iceland stops. But just because of this weather the destination Stórurð was especially extraterrestrial. More Tolkien is not working!
