According to legend, the lake Leichensee got its name because the inhabitants of the robbery castle located on the lake should have sunk the bodies of their robbed victims there. (Wikisource: The legend of the Leichensee). The lake has a runoff to the Randow, which - in accordance with the name of the lake - is called a mortuary trench. On the southern shore are the remains of a Slavic castle wall.
