Between the middle and the end of the seventeenth century the construction of the villa was started in the hamlet of Villanova, client of the project was the noble Marini family.In the first half of the eighteenth century the villa was bought by the Cattaneo family, a noble title and the consequent access to the city council. The Cattaneo family decided to start a major renovation on the property to transform it into the family's representative palace.
