Nature view Suhorn - fantastic view in the valley of the Wümme
The landscape of the Lüneburg Heath is almost endless. Especially good you can experience the vastness of our landscape on the Endmoränenzug Suhorn near Niederhaverbeck.
Endmorenzenzug Suhorn:
At the small heath village Niederhaverbeck lies the Suhorn. From here you have a breathtaking view over the headwaters of the Wümme with its heathland.
The Suhorn forms a watershed
The Suhorn lies on a Endmoränenzug, which forms a watershed. The Wümme, which springs here, flows west over the Hamme and Lesum and flows into the lower Weser.
Let your gaze wander in an easterly direction, then you can see green meadows in the distance. The water from this headwaters flows eastwards over the rivers Brunau, Luhe and Ilmenau and flows into the Elbe at Hoppte.
The story of the dropout Dorothea Möller-Guttmann:
About 100 years ago, the dropout Dorothea Möller-Guttmann decided to settle in this landscape. She lived here in a small and long-destroyed hut. The heath landscape here at Suhorn inspired Dorothea Möller-Guttmann to write poems under the pseudonym "Haidefrau". Dorothea Möller-Guttmann was not only a poet, she also knew very well the healing power of plants and went with this talent as a "Wümm-Mudder" in the story.
The final morenine train Suhorn lies on the 5th stage of the Heidschnucken trail from Niederhaverbeck to Bispingen (17 km).

Beautiful trail along the Suhorn, with a view of the opposite Wümme Berg. There are many hikers and bikers here. Unfortunately, the trail has already suffered a lot.
