This trail is challenging: scree and rock alternate, demanding your concentration. The path is varied and at times quite steep. At the same time, it offers beautiful views of Lake Frillensee, the village of Anger, and across to the Stoißer Alm on the Teisenberg.
You should be sure-footed and free from vertigo on this section. Some sections are secured with wire ropes, and in between, artificial stone steps provide assistance.
In the lower section, the trail runs through forest. If you're climbing this section and have enough energy, you can carry a log to the summit for the Staufenhaus.
The second part of the tour is beautifully landscaped, the view outstanding. Rocky terrain, also accessible without climbing experience. Surefootedness and a head for heights necessary. One of the jackdaws even landed on my outstretched arm and pecked at my granola bar. An unforgettable tour.
