A pious pilgrim or excursionist does not go to Trški Vrh along the way. You go there on purpose, to enjoy the beautiful environment of the gentle hills of Zagorje, from where your view reaches Strahinjčica on one side, and Krapina and the Krapinjčica valley on the other. There you enjoy the original Croatian Baroque, the harmony of architecture and art of the church and cinquefoil. The pious pilgrim will especially invigorate his soul in front of the miraculous statue of the Mother of God of Jerusalem and enrich himself by getting to know the miraculous history of that statue and its shrine.

If you find yourself there for the first time, you may not even notice the statue of Our Lady of Jerusalem in that baroque splendor of the main altar, because it is really small, only twelve centimeters large, like a souvenir statue we bring from Lourdes, Fatima or Maria Bistrica. All the statues on the altar, even those of many little angels, are larger than it. You need to ask someone where he is, or take this guide. It can easily happen that you leave without even noticing him, like the one "you were in Rome and you didn't see the Pope".

For pious pilgrims, it is an unforgettable experience at great farewells when thousands of souls unite in fervent prayer and song, a charm that only a Marian shrine can provide. The unique intimate atmosphere of Trški Vrh with its beauty inspires, strengthens and delights the works of God and the works of faithful hands.

Probably none of our shrines has its history written from the time when it was created, as this Mother of God of Jerusalem has on Trški Vrh. It was written down by Nikola Gorup, the parish priest of Krapina from 1747 to 1778, the builder of the sanctuary, collecting data on the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Jerusalem from the very beginning.
