The port of Igoumenitsa is a practical starting point if you are travelling by bike and want to take a ferry - for example to Corfu (Kerkira) or towards Italy. The prices for cyclists are really fair and loading and unloading the bike is relaxed. There are even special holders on board so that your bike is safely stowed away while you enjoy the crossing.

The atmosphere at the port is pleasant - you have a view of the sea while you wait for the ferry and you can have a last coffee in one of the cafes right on the pier before you set off. When you board the ferry, the next little adventure on two wheels begins - a quiet crossing with fresh sea air included.

The best thing about it is that you are flexible with the bike: get on, park it and soon be setting off again on the other side.
