This is the top of Els Angels, the biggest climb in the Gavarres natural reserve. There is a chapel, a sanctuary, a restaurant/café, toilets, and this is where the podium celebrations happen every year at the end of the hill climb time trial, which races up the 10km long western side.

The Sanctuary of Els Àngels is one of the most visited and most devoted sanctuaries in Girona, and the Virgen dels Àngels is venerated. It is the top of Puig Alto to the Gavarres massif, in the municipality of Sant Martí Vell (Girona).

It's a simple must do great ride which I always do when in the area . It's has a section after 4k which eases off before hurting again for the last 3k.
