The High Bridge, which connects the Bronx to Manhattan is the oldest bridge in NYC. It opened 1848 and was reopened as a pedestrian walkway in 2015 after being closed for over 45 years. The view is amazing and the ride is smooth. It is accessible by East Coast Greenways. The large tower on the Manhattan sire is the The High Bridge Water Tower. It was constructed as a functioning water tower in 1872.
