In the remote Subequana Valley, at the foot of the Sirente mountain range, stands the small village of Gagliano Aterno, a town of ancient origins. The medieval Gallianum showed off its most important monuments starting from the castle of the Counts of Celano which controlled the valley and which was owned by the most illustrious families of the time.
