The 3,543 m² cemetery on Vardingholter Straße has served the Jewish community as Beth Olam (House of Eternity) since 1940. The 94 tombstones that still exist today come from the Old Cemetery. 126 deceased were affected by the reburial campaign. The grave of Sara Cleffmann, who died in 1927, came from the Jewish cemetery in Rhede.
The Soviet prisoners of war, who were also buried in this cemetery, were transferred to the Russian war grave cemetery in another reburial operation in 1964 Source: City of Bocholt
