He brings everyone back on their feet, Doctor Wald.
He always knows the right medicine for headaches, aching back, crazy blood pressure and confused thoughts.
He just doesn't make house calls. But now there is the Dr. Forest path.
This path connects natural history with the GDR past and that in an extremely beautiful natural landscape.
The 21-kilometer circular hiking trail leads through Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig, Stützerbach and Frauenwald.
Entry is of course possible from all three locations.
And everywhere there is a lot to discover: in the Stützerbach local history and glass museum as well as the dense coniferous forest at the mass mill and the bunker museum on Rennsteig, once used by the GDR's state security.
In Schmiedefeld, the craftsmanship of the glassblowers awaits with interesting insights.
And so the wanderer puts himself in the hands of the wondrous Doctor Wald. If his practice is overcrowded, everyone feels fit and healthy again.
