About half a mile below the road closure (as of 2020) at the dam, the PCT crosses Forest Road 11. Despite the closure it can still be a good place to arrange a package-drop or meet-up with a trail angel, or try to hitchhike 10 miles for resupply into the tiny town of McCloud with one of the many anglers that come fishing below the dam.
