The bunkers are the marine artillery arsenal Fahrenkrug-Wahlstedt.

I quote:

"In 1937, the construction of the Fahrenkrug marine artillery arsenal began in the Segeberger Forst on the outskirts of Wahlstedt. At that time, Wahlstedt had about 750 inhabitants and actually had little to do with the arsenal. The location in the forest was chosen because one was comfortable Believed to be safer there in front of airplanes, ie bomb attacks, than in the port cities.
270 hectares were leased by the forest administration, 44 hectares were added by Gut Dall et al.

In this company, around 2000 workers produced ammunition for the navy around the clock in 4 shifts. The workers came from a large area by bike, bus and train, foreign workers lived here in barracks camps.
The Trappenkamp Arsenal manufactured barrage weapons, i.e. sea mines, etc.
There were other, similar arsenals inland, e.g. in Lübenheen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
In 1941, the Marine witness office was also relocated from Wilhelmshaven to the vicinity of Kiel and came to the Kurhaus in Bad Segeberg. It administered Trappenkamp and Wahlstedt, among others.

The quantities generated can be guessed at when you see what was left at the end of the war:
Total stock: 47,400 t
Sunk off Kiel: 23,400 t
Already in the chronicle printed in 1958 there was a hint that one had to get all this out of the Baltic Sea again.
Russia, France, the USA and England each received a share, 6000 t were burned, and another part went to Heligoland, among others.

On May 3, 1945, English troops moved into Wahlstedt and the arsenal had to be handed over. It was long believed here that the English did not know the exact location of the arsenal, but there are now aerial photographs that prove the opposite. The site was dismantled, bunkers blown up, but the workshop buildings could largely be preserved. From around 1947, only parts of it and, until 1952, everything went to the Federal Property Administration and from there to private ownership. "

There are old bunkers all over the forest. Most of them are easy to walk on, but collapsed so much that one can only guess their original structure.
