Small and ancient countryside sanctuary south of Crema in an elevated bend of the Serio river which in ancient times lapped it in the so-called Dead Serio valley. The remains of ancient tombs have been found, in fact there was a cemetery in place before the construction of the church. It is reached by a winding and narrow asphalted country road with remarkable glimpses of the Serio river and adjacent canals. A jump into the past.

The sanctuary of the Marzale, more simply the Marzale as the building is popularly called, is located along the narrow and winding road that leads from Ripalta Vecchia to Ripalta Arpina, winding along the crest of two river valleys, that of the Serio on one side and that of the Serio Dead on the other. The surroundings of the church give this sacred place an atmosphere of intimate recollection, calm and reflection; surrounded by poplar groves, in the middle of the Serio Park, the sanctuary is located on the end of the high bank of the Serio river, which can be accessed by descending a staircase that is about twelve meters high from the cliff that separates the Marzale from the Cremasco river.
