The Wöhrdener Loch is part of the Speichererkoog. The area is grazed extensively in order to keep the vegetation short and thus to be able to offer sufficient space for ground-breeding birds.

From the dike you have a wonderful view over the whole area. And a highlight for ornithologists, because here you can discover many different species.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of cars right in front of the dike on the small road, and often not exactly slowly. If it weren't for that, you could quietly watch many birds here, depending on the time of year and time of day.
The Koniks no longer exist here as several starved to death in the fall of 2020 before anyone really noticed. Nobody felt really responsible and that ended the project and there should be no more Koniks.
