Hike where the sea floor is otherwise - this is possible here on the North Sea, where ebb and flow alternate. It is a unique experience to stand in the middle of the mudflats - all around just silence and endless space.

Sometimes the sand is very solid under your feet, then you dive a little deeper into the soft silt and at other places you can see how water collects in the form of a spiral in the troughs.

Experience this incredibly fascinating and peaceful living space with all your senses and become one with nature. Keep your eyes open, because not only crabs, mussels, lugworms and seals are at home here, but also around 3,000 different animal and plant species. Some of them only exist in this place worldwide - one of the last original natural landscapes in Central Europe.

The award "UNESCO World Natural Heritage" was given to the unique habitat in 2009. Since then it can be mentioned in the same breath as the Grand Canyon or the Great Barrier Reef.
Hikes should only be undertaken with experienced mudflat guides.
