    The house Steprath is a former nobility seat north of Walbeck, a district of the city Geldern on the Lower Rhine. The castle-like plant is located in the middle of a wooded area very close to the German-Dutch border in North Rhine-Westphalia and is since 20 September 1984 as a listed building monument.

    The property was probably built in the first half of the 15th century, according to the historian Leopold Henrichs from a simple farm, which was redesigned by several generations of owners according to their needs. A first documentary mention was the plant in the middle of the 16th century on the occasion of the marriage of the heiress Katharina von Geldern with Heinrich von Steprath, whose name was transferred to the house.

    After extensive restoration from the end of the 1980s, the mansion of the plant serves today as a meeting place and meeting place. It is not possible to visit the listed building as a listed building.

          Beautiful old castle which unfortunately you cannot enter, it is private property. You can get a little closer to the side, but only at the sheds. The castle itself is well hidden.
