The Brokdorf nuclear power plant is located in Schleswig-Holstein, near the city of Glückstadt, on the Elbe. It was put into operation in 1986 and has been an invariably successful operation ever since. In terms of annual electricity supply, it has so far been among the ten most powerful nuclear power plants in the world a total of 21 times. Of these, 12 times in the top three and was twice production world champion.

With Germany's accelerated phase-out of nuclear energy, decided in 2011, the Brokdorf power plant will cease operating by December 31, 2021 at the latest.

Good place to get over the dike. From the dike you have a beautiful panoramic view of the Elbe, or an "interesting" view of the NPP.
Here we were lucky enough to happen to be able to watch a transformer being loaded by floating crane from the ship onto a truck and brought over the dike to the nuclear power plant, very interesting.
