The Nere River is born in the glacial lakes of the Lac deth Hòro and Estanh Nere in the upper part of the Nere Valley or Ribèra deth Nere, valley crowned by the peaks of the Forcanada or Malh des Pois (2,883 m) and Cap deth Hòro de Molières or Cap de Toro (2,971 m).
The River Nere is fed along its course by several gorges such as that of Hereishedo, deth Pòrt or Sant Estèue, until its outlet into the Garonne in the locality of Viella
