In 1905 the Bismarck Tower was inaugurated as a memorial to the Ostprignitz for the first chancellor of the German Empire. Since 1994, visitors have been able to admire the neo-Gothic tower with the coats of arms of the cities of Ostprignitz, noble families and pens in a restored state. From the upper platform there is a wonderful view of the landscape and the city.

The foundation stone was laid in 1904, and on April 2, 1905, the tower was inaugurated. The tower has a floor area of 4.2 m × 4.2 m, and has three floors, two of which are used as exhibition spaces. On the tower body 22 glass mosaic plates are attached with names of nobility and cities from the Prignitz.

The Pritzwalker Bismarck Tower is one of approximately 160 towers still standing today, built in memory of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898).
It is the only one in the Prignitz region.
Even during his lifetime, Bismarck enjoyed considerable veneration in the German Empire, which even extended to kitschy souvenirs.
Bismarck towers were built throughout the German Empire, particularly between his death and the First World War. In addition to being a memorial, they were usually also intended as a tourist attraction with a panoramic view.
