              Ca del Re is one of the last moors south of the Alps so called because it was a hunting and fishing destination for the rulers of the House of Savoy. The Ca del Re moor is home to a great variety of vegetation, including a rare species of gentian that grows in the lowlands. The presence of a rich fauna and an uncommon vegetation make the area a place of particular naturalistic and environmental interest, so much so that it is proposed as a Site of Community Interest. It can be accessed from the municipality of Solaro from via della Repubblica or from the headquarters of the Groane Park Consortium along a cycle / pedestrian path in the first section and only a pedestrian path in the last part. It takes about 30 minutes to walk the itinerary.
