Lichtenegg is an idyllic village on top of the Bavarian Jura, at the junction of the communities of Birgland, Pommelsbrunn and Weigendorf, between the districts of Amberg-Sulzbach and Nürnberger Land. Here you can find the Lichtenegg castle ruins, which are open to visitors all year round and probably date back to the 13th century. Directly below the ruins there is a beautiful inn, the Alter Schloss-Wirt Lichtenegg. Here you can find regional specialties and a beautiful beer garden with a trust fund.
