The chapel of "GUIMBERT" which is also called chapel of Notre Dame de Graces, stands on the road leading from Lignieres to Orgeres. Tradition says that in very ancient times, Druidic cults were deeply rooted in the region of Orgères.

To distract the inhabitants from the cults they gave to trees, fountains and stones, the first evangelizers placed statues of the Virgin in many places. It is said that the current chapel was not to be built in this place but in a marshy place called "Maracien" and that the work carried out during the day was destroyed during the following night. The statue of the virgin was curiously transported there where the current chapel is built.
This chapel was probably built in 1639 by Father Noel HUBERT parish priest of Orgères, as indicated by the inscription on the stone forming the keystone of the front door. The inhabitants of Orgeres have always had a particular veneration for Notre Dame de Graces to whom they attribute to being preserved from numerous plagues (thunderstorms, chafer, contagious diseases etc ...).
