The Hlíðarfjall Bike Park is located in the ski area of the same name. In addition to the trails built here, there are numerous other trails in the immediate area. some of them are definitely suitable for gravel. Overall, a worthwhile destination that is easily accessible by bike from both the campsite and the city (a little uphill doesn't hurt 😉). The ski resort Hlíðarfjall - Akureyri is located in Northeast Iceland (Iceland). 14.9 km of slopes are available for skiing and snowboarding. 6 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area lies at an altitude of 476 to 950 m.

The ski resort Hlíðarfjall is located above the town of Akureyri, the largest city in northern Iceland. Hlíðarfjall has slopes for all levels of difficulty for skiing and snowboarding. The not particularly large and high, but almost exotic ski resort is spoiled thanks to its northern location of a particularly good snow quality. A highlight of skiing is the view of Eyjafjörður Ford, where Akureyri is located. Good to know: The opening hours vary during the week and the ski resort tends to be open from the afternoon. The winter sports area Hlíðarfjall also offers some cross-country trails in impressive scenery.

Hlíðarfjall Bike Park, in the mountains above Akureyri, is Iceland's only bike park. Open in summer, it offers a chairlift to take bikes up to almost 1,000 meters and some 40 km of trails: from technical tracks and challenging descents to smoother sections and even e-bike areas. The flagship descent drops more than 700 meters of elevation to the Glerá Valley, with stunning views of the fjord and mountains. It's the perfect place to get the most out of cycling in Iceland: varied terrain, a biker atmosphere, and the sensation of pedaling through a volcanic playground.
