The new Egon-Bremer-Platz, which lies between the city ponds and the city garden, has been officially handed over to the public today (September 26) in its redesign. The aim was to create a reef spot and a place for a leisurely rest at this crossroads of popular day trips. The Egon Bremer Foundation has taken care of the financing of the new design of this area. The available area was previously in a bleak state dar. Already in city plans at the beginning of the last century, this important crossroads area is located. Here the paths meet Wevels meadow (along the Vorthbach), the tangent with Plaggenbahn / Josef-Albers road / Randebrockstraße, the way to the city ponds and the Hierkampweg (direction Hans-Böckler-Straße). The Tangente Plaggenbahn was formerly used among other things as a horse cart track for the supply of construction sites with bricks of the steam brick Ernst Bremer and Co.
