Emigrant Pass is a shorter, but steeper and higher option to get from Grizzly Meadows to Sonora Pass, meeting the PCT near it's high point before Leavitt Peak. Following Emigrant Trail along West Fork West Walker River to the PCT and climbing through Kennedy Canyon is a sightly longer but more gradual route that also offers amazing views of several lakes along the way.
