A lake partially surrounded by a genuine floodplain landscape. A walk around it is worthwhile. A surprise is a small memorial stone to Otto Fries (aerobatic pilot) on the Malchow side. With a bit of luck, you might spot wild cattle in an enclosure. It's a good tip for anglers. Swimming, however, is prohibited.
Calm lake with several small shores. In the immediate vicinity there are a number of forest trails. Bring your own bread, there is no sea cafe. Lying far enough from the city center, houses and streets give way to fields and small streets.
Malchower See is a super nice surprise that kind of emerges out of nowhere. The bike lanes to and from the water are relatively small and can get a lot of foot traffic, so don't expect to be able to go fast. The lake is nice and peaceful, though, and gets a fraction of the visitors other lakes in the area get.
