The Scala dei Turchi is a sheer cliff that overlooks the crystalline sea making it a very suggestive place. The name derives from the Saracen pirates who, in 1500, were mistakenly called Turks. The cliff made of many steps helped the many pirates to climb up to plunder the towns.

On the SIBIT route you also pass the Scala dei Turchi. A stop is worth it. Either go down to the beach or follow the road to the lookout point.
