Quiet place in the forest, but I don't like the view from the tower because you mostly see trees. It would be great if there were some garden benches next to it so you could spend more time there.

The Brookbäke is a left tributary of the Hunte, around ten kilometres long. The Brookbäke rises southwest of the Hasbruch. This Geest stream meanders through the natural forest for around 2 kilometres.
In the 1960s, the Brookbäke was greatly expanded as part of the construction of the motorway south of the nature reserve: natural meanders gave way to a straightened and unnatural concrete bed.
The Oldenburg district's nature conservation foundation acquired the areas along the Brookbäke between the motorway and the Hasbruch and extended the course of the Brookbäke again with new meanders between 2006 and 2008.
The location of the observation tower was certainly very interesting in the past, but today the view from above is very limited and not very worthwhile.
