A cycle tour for connoisseurs through the state of Salzburg, Upper Austria and Bavaria
You can tackle the Tauern Cycle Path as a cycle tour from Krimml in Pinzgau to Passau, or you can opt for the Tauern Cycle Path circuit. The popular Tauern Cycle Path has the Bavarian town of Passau as its destination and leads the last few kilometers along the Inn through Upper Austria.
You also start the Tauern Cycle Path circuit in Krimml, cycle downstream of the Salzach to the city of Salzburg and head along the banks of the Saalach back to Pinzgau to Zell am See. From there you can take the Pinzgau local railway to your starting point at the Krimml Waterfalls. Of course, you are free to start the Tauern Cycle Path or the Tauern Cycle Path circuit at any location you like. Zell am See and the city of Salzburg are particularly popular starting points. At 270 kilometers, the Tauern Cycle Route is almost 30 kilometers shorter than the Tauern Cycle Route between Krimml and Passau.
All sections of the route are easy to manage and can also be mastered when accompanied by children. The easier route of the cycle route leads from Krimml via Zell am See, St. Johann, Werfen and Hallein to the city of Salzburg and via Reichenhall, Lofer and Saalfelden back to Krimml.
