The Burggraaf Frimout Park in Poperinge is a real garden gem and the city's green lung. On a total area of three hectares you will find educational gardens, open meadows and a great playground. There are numerous open-air events here in summer.

The park is named after Dirk Frimout, the first Belgian astronaut and honorary citizen of the city of Poperinge. He ceremonially opened the park on September 1, 2002.
The elongated park measures over 3 hectares and is located along the Poperingevaart. It includes three parts:
A demonstration section, which contains model gardens,
An ecological zone
A recreational zone', where performances also take place.
In the park there is a statue called STS-45, which refers to Frimout's space flight and was made by Cyr Frimout, the brother of Dirk Frimout.
